Mike KittMARS HILL, N.C. - The Lions' baseball team rebounded from a six-run deficit to beat Alderson Broaddus 7-6 Wednesday afternoon at Henderson Field. Mars Hill improved to 11-14 while the Battlers fell to 9-3 on the season.

Mike Kitt (West Islip, N.Y.) led MHC going 3-4 with a run scored, an RBI and a stolen base. Mike Dobre (Pompano Beach, Fla.) and Corry DiBiase (Orlando, Fla.) followed with two hits apiece. Devin Presnell (Boone, N.C.) and Patrick Davidson (Swannanoa, N.C.) led the team with two RBI apiece.

The Battlers scored two runs in the first, second and third innings, respectively to take a 6-0 advantage on the Lions. All six runs were accounted for by three, two-run homers.

The Lions scored three runs in the fourth frame on four hits and one A-B error. Davidson hit a two-run homerun to highlight the inning.

Presnell singled in the sixth inning to drive in two of the Lions four runs in the frame to seal the comeback victory for MHC. A-B out hit Mars Hill 12-11.

Matt Dameron (Mt. Holly, N.C.) picked up the win (1-0) pitching 3.2 innings in relief. Thomas White (Irmo, S.C.) recorded his third save on the year holding the Battlers at bay in their final at-bat.

Mars Hill will host Ohio Valley University on Thursday afternoon. The game has been moved up to 2 p.m. to avoid incoming rain in the area.
