Matt OleskiGAFFNEY, S.C. - The Lions's baseball team lost at Limestone College Wednesday afternoon by a score of 7-5. Mars Hill fell to 8-9 on the season while the Saints improved to 10-6 on the year.

Limestone scored two runs in the first inning on two hits and one Lion error and then added a single run in the third frame on three hits. Matt Oleski (West Seneca, N.Y.) brought the Lions within a run (2-3) of the Saints in the top half of the fourth when he belted a two-run homerun. MHC tied the contest in the fifth when Mike Dobre (Pompano Beach, Fla.) drove in Dalton Hardee (Boone, N.C.) on a sacrifice fly. After Limestone put two runs on the board in the bottom half of the fifth inning, the Lions answered scoring two runs of their own in the sixth frame when Hardee doubled to plate Oleski and Corry DiBiase (Orlando, Fla.).

With the game tied at 5-all in the bottom of the sixth inning, Aldo Mendez tripled to score Adam Vafides and Ryan McKenzie to make the final tally, 7-5. Mars Hill was unable to score in their final three at-bats.

Oleski went 1-2 with the two-run blast to lead MHC at the plate. DiBiase had a hit and scored a pair of runs. Joseph Keel (Rocky Mount, N.C.) took the loss (0-2) on the mound for Mars Hill.

The Lions will host Belmont Abbey College at Henderson Field tomorrow. The first pitch is set for 2 p.m.
