 ROCK HILL, S.C. - Mars Hill College’s designated hitter Brian Williams made the 2009 Food Lion SAC Baseball All-Tournament Team, league officials announced Monday.
Williams had a pair of home runs for the Lions in three games. He also batted .300 and drove in four runners.
Catawba College senior catcher Ryan Query was named Most Valuable Player of the tournament. He was one of eight members of the championship Indians team named to the All-Tournament team. He is joined by teammates Craige Lyerly, Chris Ahearn, Trevor Mullins, Kevin McMillan, Tim Holmes, Cameron White and Blake Ketner.
Tournament runner-up Tusculum College placed four on the All-Tournament team. Pitcher Max Keleher is joined by Nate Grabowski, Jared Richmond and Sean Cotten.
Newberry College is represented by second baseman Jovan Rohena and Thomas Berryhill.
