MARS HILL, N.C. - A clutch performance from junior Danny Farmer earned the Calgary native Nike/Inside Lacrosse National Player of the Week honors for Division II. He helped Mars Hill climb to No. 8 in the latest USILA polls, as the midfielder had an overtime game-winner against St. Leo and added another two goals in a win over Rollins to keep the Lions' Deep South record unblemished.
Against St. Leo, Farmer had four goals, including the tying goal at the end of regulation to send the bout into overtime, then the game-winner in the sudden death period. He also had four groundballs each in the two games.
On the season, Farmer leads the Mars Hill squad with 36 goals and 10 assists, leading the team in both goals and points.
