Salem WoodyGAFFNEY, S.C. -- MHC edged Limestone 2-1 in women’s soccer action on Tuesday afternoon at Saints Field. The Lions improve to 4-2-3 as the Lady Saints fall to 2-6.

MHC scored the first goal in the 11th minute off a free kick set. Alicia Blaha (Rapid City, S.D.) found the loose ball in the box to give the Lions a 1-0 lead.

The Lady Saints got on the board in the 67th minute as Madi Dulise (Burlington, Wisc.) scored. MHC responded with the game-winning goal in the 82nd minute as Salem Woody (Apex, N.C.) capitalized on a rebound.

Each team had 10 shots for the match. The Lions had a 5-2 advantage on corner kicks.

Diane Boyce (Toccoa, Ga.) had two saves for Limestone, while Becca Sellars (Loveland, Ohio) posted five saves for MHC.

MHC returns to action on September 26. The Lions will host Georgia College and State. The match will start at 7 p.m. at Meares Stadium.
