Becca SellarsGREENEVILLE, Tenn. - The Lions' women's soccer team won their season opener shutting out Mt. Olive College 2-0 in the first round of the Tusculum College Soccer Classic. Abby Martin (Greer, SC) scored the match winner.

Martin scored on a breakaway less than two minutes into the second half. The goal was unassisted. The Lions second score was an own goal at the 69:07 mark.

MHC out shot the Trojans 11-4. Mt. Olive edged the Lions in corner kicks, 3-1. Becca Sellars (Loveland, OH) played the entire match in goal for MHC and made four saves to notch her first collegiate shutout. Lyndsey McIntyre also played the entire game in the net for Mt. Olive and made three saves.

The Lions will face Nova Southeastern University on Sunday in the second round of the event. Match time is set for 12 p.m.
