 ROCK HILL, S.C. - Mars Hill College’s Abby Martin was named the SAC Women’s Soccer Player of the Week, conference officials announced today.
Martin, a 5-7, sophomore forward from Greer, S.C. (Eastside HS) scored two goals last week to help lead MHC to a 1-0-1 record. She notched the match winner in the Lions 2-0 win over Mt. Olive College and then scored the tying goal in the Lions contest against Nova Southeastern University. Both contests were played in the Tusculum Soccer Classic. Martin was the 2007 SAC Freshman of the Year, first team All SAC and a second team All-Region selection. Martin was also named a first team preseason All-SAC member.
The SAC Player of the Week is determined by a vote of the sports information directors of the league.
