 CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Mars Hill men's and women's cross country teams competed in the UNC Charlotte Invitational.
The men finished first in the Division II standings and defeated six Division I schools. Kit Powell (Antigo, Wis.) finished first on the team and in 24th place overall in a time of 25:53.9. Next in line for the Lions was Justin Gragg (Lenoir, N.C.). His time was 26:01.9.
 Rachael Rogers (Clayton, Ga.) was the top finisher for the women's team. She finished the race with a personal record time of 21:39.5. Hannah Moore (Franklin, N.C.) came in second on the team. Her time was 22:18.2. All runners improved their overall times.
The cross country teams will be back in action on October 16 in the Blue Ridge Open.
