Evie TafunaiMILLIGAN, Tenn. - The Mars Hill volleyball team won its second consecutive match after defeating Milligan on Saturday in four games. The Lions won by scores of 25-27, 25-12, 25-19 and 25-21.

Mars Hill improves to 11-14 overall. The Buffaloes fall to 14-15.

Evie Tafunai (Edwardsburg, Mich.) recorded 16 kills, 14 digs and three service aces for the Lions. Kelly Koziel (New Carlisle, Ind.) posted 18 digs. Laura Ann Huskey (West Henderson, N.C.) followed up with 13 digs and five service aces. Kelsi Flora (Mishawaka, Ind.) had 12 digs. Becca Smith (Candler, N.C.) dished out 38 assists. Jenna Luke (Mishawaka, Ind.) had three service aces.

Emilee Hale (11 kills, 10 digs), from Morristown, Tenn., and Bianca Burnett (10 kills, 10 digs), from Cookeville, Tenn., each netted double-doubles for Milligan. Hale, Burnett, Morgan Rutledge (16), from Kingsport, Tenn., Ashley Agin (13), from Atlanta, Ga., Erin Biddle (12), from Newport, Tenn., and Holly English (10), from Kingsport, Tenn., all recorded double figures in digs. Chelsea Spivey (Gate City, Va.) had 43 assists.

The Lions will resume conference play and travel to Lenoir-Rhyne on Tuesday. The match will begin at 7 p.m.
