ROCK HILL, S.C. - The Mars Hill College volleyball team is picked to finish eighth in the South Atlantic Conference, according to a vote of the league's head coaches. The Lions accumulated 16 points.

Wingate University, which has won the conference volleyball championship for the past three years, is the favorite to capture a fourth straight title.

The 2009 Mars Hill volleyball season begins August 20 against Lees-McRae in Banner Elk, N.C. The match is set to begin at 4:30 p.m. The Lions will follow with a 6 p.m. clash versus King.
