Laura Ann HuskeyCHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Queens University of Charlotte Royals lost to Mars Hill College 3-0 on Wednesday night at the Ovens Athletic Center. With the loss, the Royals fall to 3-3, while the Lions improve to 6-2.

The Royals made a habit of falling behind early in the first two games, trailing 12-20 and 10-19 respectively.

Rachel RheinheimerLaura Ann Huskey (West Henderson, N.C.) sparked Mars Hill with 10 kills and seven digs. Traci Teague (Ramseur, N.C.) recorded eight kills. Rachel "Rhino" Rheinheimer (Elkhart, Ind.) netted 10 digs. Sarah Paquette (Swannanoa, N.C.) dished out 33 assists. Kelsci "K-Bro" Flora (Mishawaka, Ind.) had three service aces.

Queens was lead offensively with eight kills from Keri Kemp (Lake Mary, Fla.) and 20 assists by Erinn Moore (Longwood, Fla.). Defensively the Royals key contributions came from Avery Griggs (Hendersonville, N.C.) with nine digs and two blocks from Brittany Harvey (Matthews, N.C.).

Mars Hill hit an impressive .299 for the match (37 kills on 85 total attacks) including a stifling .435 (12 kills, two errors and 23 total attacks) mark in game two.

The Lions will host Tusculum on September 15 inside Stanford Arena. The match will begin at 7 p.m.
