 CALABASH, N.C. - The Mars Hill women's golf team finished in 13th place after the final day of the Lenoir-Rhyne Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate. The team of four players fired a total of 785 (407-378).
Taylor Banks (Burnsville, N.C.) led all Lion golfers after the two-day event with a 179 (88-91). Chelsey Bond (Ottawa, Canada) finished with a final score of 190 (93-97).
Newberry finished first among all teams participating in the golf tournament. The team of five players fired a total of 611 (312-299).
The women's golf team will take on Brevard on Friday. The match play event will be held at the Etowah Valley Golf Course in Etowah, N.C.
