MARS HILL, N.C. - Bekki Hagerman (Tallahassee, Fla.) scored her first two goals of the season to lift Limestone over Mars Hill in women's soccer 2-1 Wednesday night at Meares Stadium. The Lady Saints improve to 1-7. The Lions fall to 1-8.
Hagerman got Limestone on the board with a breakaway goal at the 15:38 mark that went past Becca Sellars (Loveland, Ohio). Hagerman's second goal of the game came 10 minutes later when Ashley Alderin-Fleagle (Kernersville, N.C.) fed the ball to the midfielder who scored from 20 yards out.
Mars Hill responded in the 83rd minute to trim the deficit to one goal. Abby Martin (Greer, S.C.) connected on her third goal of the season beating Brittany Clark (York, S.C.) from five yards out. However, the Lions were unable to muster a trying goal in the final 17 minutes of play.
Clark made three saves for the Lady Saints. Sellars recorded four saves for the Lions.
Mars Hill will host Catawba on Saturday at Meares Stadium. The start time is set for 2 p.m.
