#1 Austin Boehme
Austin is in his second year with the Lions after transferring from Elon University. Last season for the Lions, Austin anchored CF for the Lions as he made a team high 51 starts. He also led the team in stolen bases as he spent the majority of the season at the leadoff position. Austin should have another great season with the Lions. His brother, Hunter, is a freshman this year for MHC. Austin is majoring in business. |

#3 Cody Branton
Cody is beginning his final year with the Lions baseball program. During high school Cody received a lot of recognition, he was voted a two-time all conference member, All-Western North Carolina team member, All-State, and MVP two years in a row. Cody had a break out sophomore campaign for Lions as he compiled a 6-2 record, 2 saves, and a 3.38 E.R.A. During the past two seasons for the Lions he has appeared in 46 games for the Lions including 14 starts. As a junior Cody led the team with 23 appearances and was second in ERA. Cody was voted a captain for his senior year. Cody is majoring in Business. |

#5 James Dean
James is entering his fourth year with the Lions. During his junior and senior years of high school James received many awards including, first team All-Area and All-State, District Tournament MVP and posted a .451 batting average. Last year James played in 41 games and hit .322 for the Lions. James has good speed and will make an impact in the outfield this year. James is majoring in business. |

#8 Devin Presnell
Devin joins the Lion program from Watauga High School. Devin enjoyed a sensational senior year batting .491 with 22 RBI and was voted Team MVP and All-Conference. He appeared in 19 games as a freshman and ended the season playing OF and 2B for the Lions. Devin had a great fall and should battle for starting spot in the middle of the infield. Devin is majoring in Sports Management. |

#9 Brian Williams
Brian comes to the Lions as a transfer from Palm Beach Atlantic. Brian had a great first year for the Lions as he batted .339 and hit 5 homeruns. Brian was the everyday shortstop as a sophomore and should play up the middle this spring. Brian was voted to the Preseason All-Conference Second Team as an infielder. Brian is majoring in business. |

#11 David DeSilva
David is starting his fourth year of Lion baseball. While in high school he was a two-time team captain, team MVP and competed in the NC East-West game. David had a fantastic sophomore campaign for the lions as he hit .337 and played a solid third base. Last season, David made the move to second base and was second on the team in stolen bases. David has a strong work ethic and was voted as a captain for his senior campaign. David is majoring in sports management. |

#16 Justin Hall
Justin joins the Lions from Bassett High School in Virginia. He enjoyed a fantastic senior year and 84K’s in 57 innings pitched with an E.R.A. of 1.60. He had numerous postseason accolades including First Team All-District, Piedmont District Player of the Year, and honorable mention All-State. In his freshmen campaign, Justin finished the season as the #2 starter for the Lions. He had a 4-3 record with 2 saves in 63 innings. Justin also was second on the team in strikeouts. Justin should move into the #1 starter for the Lions this spring. Justin is majoring in Athletic Training. |

#17 Jon Helsabeck
Jon comes from Parkland High School in Winston-Salem. Jon was All-Conference in his final two years of high school including Runner-Up player of the year as a junior. He batted .491 and also threw well with an E.R.A. of 0.91. Jon enjoyed his first year with the Lions as he became there everyday third baseman. Jon had another great fall and should be ready to have another great year. Jon is majoring in English. |

#18 Joseph Keel
Joseph is entering his second year with the lions and is from Southern Nash High School. Joseph was named All-Conference and All-Area as a senior in high school. Joseph appeared in 13 games as a freshman for the Lions and recorded a save. He threw some big innings for the Lions and should be a go to guy out of the pen again this year. Joseph is majoring in Sports Management. |

#19 Eric Stewart
Eric is in his second season with the Lions as he transferred in from Blue Ridge Community College. Eric was on the Region X All-Conference team in 2006 and led the league in wins and innings pitched. Eric led the Lions staff in ERA as a junior. He had 18 appearances including 8 starts. He also had a 4-3 record which included 2 CG. Eric should have another great year this spring for the Lions staff. Eric is majoring in Recreation Administration. |

#20 Dustin Kerley
Dustin is entering his fourth season of MHC baseball. Dustin came from a winning high school program with a senior season record of 26-2, best in ACHS history. Dustin played in 25 games last year for the Lions, mostly at second base. Dustin is a solid defensive player and has continued to work hard to improve his all-around game. Dustin is majoring in Physical Education. |

#25 Adam Frydman
Adam is in his fourth year at Mars Hill, coming from Ontario, Canada. Adam is a left-handed pitcher with great potential. In high school Adam was a three-sport athlete, basketball, volleyball and baseball- and voted team MVP of his baseball team senior year. Adam was hampered by injuries last spring and red-shirted. Adam is majoring in Physical Education. |

#26 Ryan Smith
Ryan is playing in his fourth season with the Lions. In high school Ryan was a 2-time all-county and all-conference performer. Ryan is a hard working individual who is the ultimate team player. Ryan could see time at 1B and DH for the Lions this year. Ryan is majoring in sports management. |

#28 Patrick Davidson
Patrick is entering his second season and is from nearby Owen High. He participated in the NC State Games in 2005 and batted .439 in 2006 on his way to garnering Team MVP and All-Conference honors. Patrick has great baseball tools and should add depth to this year’s team in the outfield or behind the plate. Patrick is majoring in Physical Education. |

#30 Tyler Greene
Tyler is in his fourth year at MHC. Last year Tyler set a school record for appearances in a season with 24 and over the past two years has had 45 appearances out of the bullpen. Tyler has a tremendous work ethic and is a bulldog on the mound. We will look to Tyler to be a setup man again this year for the Lions. Tyler is majoring in History. |

#31 Adam Atkinson
Adam is in his third year at MHC. In 2003 he was voted most athletic, best offensive player, and All-Conference as a pitcher in high school. As a sophomore for the Lions, Adam recorded 4 wins in 56 innings of work. Adam had an outstanding fall and will throw on the weekends this spring as a senior. Adam is majoring in Physical Education. |

#33 Charlie Harrison
Charlie is entering his third year at MHC. Charlie transferred to the Lions from Surry C.C., where he helped lead his team to a conference championship in 2005. As a junior for the Lions, Charlie had a record setting year as he went 6-1 with 11 saves and a 1.47 E.R.A. His 11 saves not only set a season record but also a career record for the Lions. He also set school records for E.R.A., winning percentage, and lowest opponents’ batting average. All of these statistics gained him a 1st Team All-Conference and a 1st Team All-Region selection. Charlie sat out last season and should have a productive senior year for the Lions. Charlie is majoring in Physical Education. |

#34 Lee Blalock
This is Lee’s third year at MHC coming from Surry C.C. Lee had a great high school career where he was voted All-Conference and All-County while at Sun Valley. As a sophomore he started 24 games and tallied 2 homeruns for the lions. After sitting out last season due to an injury, Lee will focus on being a pitcher for the Lions. He is fully healthy and could see a variety of roles on this year’s staff. Lee is majoring in Physical Education. |

#35 Danny Miller
Danny is in his second year with the Lions as he transferred in from Elon University. He was a two-sport star in high school as he was all-region in baseball and made the All-County defensive team as a senior. Danny hit in the middle of the lineup last season as a junior and should hit there again this spring. Danny had a great fall and could also see some time on the hill for the Lions this spring. Danny is majoring in business. |

#41 Matt Dameron
Matt is in his third year at MHC. In high school he put up an impressive 1.95 E.R.A. with 41 strikeouts in 28.2 innings pitched. Matt had nine appearances as a sophomore last season with the Lions. We look for Matt to add depth out of the bullpen this year for the Lions. Matt is majoring in Business. |

#44 Brendan Van Popering
Brendan is in his third year at MHC. He was MVP and voted All-Conference his junior and senior years in high school. His senior year he recorded a 1.97 ERA with 67 strikeouts in 65 innings. In his first season with the Lions, Brendan had 3 wins in 7 starts until he was hampered by an arm injury. Brendan sat out the 2007 season with an injury but looks to be 100% healthy. Brendan should compete for a starting spot on this year’s staff. Brendan is majoring in Business. |

#47 Jason Kennell
Jason is entering his fourth season with the Lions' baseball program after red-shirting his freshman season. Jason is a smart pitcher that has a knack for getting hitters out. Over the past two seasons, Kennell has had 23 appearances and finished last season in the weekend rotation. We look for Jason to fill a variety of roles this year for the pitching staff. |

#55 Brendan Blackwell
Brendan is entering his final season at MHC after a medical red shirt his freshman year. Brendan is looking to bounce back from a couple years of injuries and should be healthy. He had a good fall and we look for him to give depth to the bullpen this year. Brendan is majoring in Recreation and Administration. |

#2 Sam Sinclair
5-7, 170, JR, C
Lancaster, SC/ USC- Salkehatchie
During his time at USC- Salkehatchie, Sam was the captain of his baseball team and was very dedicated to his work in the classroom as well as the playing field. Sam was an Academic All-American, Student of the Year, and was selected to the Dean's List every semester. Sam will add depth at the catching position for the Lions this spring. Sam is majoring in Physical Education with a Coaching concentration. |

Pompano Beach, FL/ Garrett College
Mike is a junior college transfer that will help the Lion Baseball program immediately. Last year as a sophomore at Garrett CC in Maryland, he batted .383 and received 1st team all-conference and 1st team all-region honors. Mike will enter the spring as the #1 catcher and should bat in the top of the order for the Lions. Mike is majoring in Physical Education. |

Last year as a sophomore at Erie Community College, Matt recorded a .390 batting average with 3 homeruns. In 2 years at Erie CC, Matt was 26 for 27 on the base paths. Matt is a very good defensive outfielder and should anchor a corner spot for the Lions this spring. Matt will major in Physical Education with a concentration in Coaching. |

Winston-Salem, NC/ RJ Reynolds HS
In his senior year of high school, Hunter had a batting average of .474 and an on-base percentage of .575. He was selected to the All-Conference team and All-Forsyth County team. Hunter will add depth to the outfield with his tremendous speed. His brother Austin, is a two year starter at CF for the Lions. Hunter’s major is undecided. |

Murrells Inlet, SC/ Waccamaw High School
In high school, Greg led his team in ERA his junior and senior years, 1.67 and 2.38 respectively, earning him an All-Region team selection during his senior season. Greg also holds the single season passing record (football) and was the winner of the Wendy’s High School Heisman. Greg had a tremendous fall for the Lions and should add depth to the pitching staff as a freshman. Greg is a history major. |

Dalton comes to the Lions from Watauga High School where he was the starting shortstop for four years. Dalton played for his father, Pete, and was an All-Conference selection as a shortstop his senior year. Dalton had an outstanding fall and should help the lions as a middle infielder and corner OF as a freshman. Dalton's major is undecided. |

While at Freedom High School, Austin collected a .398 career batting average, including a senior year where he hit .462 with 17 stolen bases. Austin was a 2 time All-Conference performer in high school as well. Austin will add depth to the infield as a freshman for the Lions. Austin is majoring in Physical Education. |

During high school, Daniel was a 2-time All-County and All-Conference performer. He was selected to the All-Region team and was a part of the 2007 AAAA State Championship team. Daniel was also selected as part of the Senior East-West State Games. Daniel led the team in hitting this fall and should be a staple in the middle of our lineup. Daniel is undecided in his major. |

Corry joins the Lions after playing 2 years at Nova Southeastern University. Corry made a smooth transition in the fall to the hill and will be a middle of the order type guy for us in the spring. He will see playing time in the corner infield or outfield positions. Corry is majoring in Business Administration. |

Brandon joins the Lion program from Mount Olive College. In high school, Brandon was a 3 time all-conference performer in baseball, basketball, and also was an all-conference player in football. Brandon should add depth to the infield and pitching staff this spring. Brandon was a member of the National Honor Society in high school as well and will be majoring in Business while at Mars Hill. |

During high school, Steffan was a 3-year letterman. In 14 appearances, he earned a 2-0 record with a 1.55 ERA and 3 saves in 2006. He comes to Mars Hill as a mid year transfer. His submarine style of pitching should be an asset to the Lions this spring. Steffan is majoring in Sports Management. |

Zach joins the Lions from Newton-Conover High where he was a 2-year letterman and 2-year MVP. Zach was also selected to the all-conference team while at Newton-Conover. Zach had an impressive fall and has intrigued the coaching staff with his knowledge and instincts of the game. Zach has the potential to be a key player in the future. Zach has not decided on a major. |

During his junior season, Jon was picked on the 1A 1st Team All-State by NCpreps.com. In his senior season, Jon earned 1A Western Region Finals MVP. Jon had a great fall and should be an impact arm on the hill as a freshman. Jon is majoring in Physical Education. |

In high school, Chad collected a 19-3 overall record on the mound with a 2.25 ERA, earning him All-Conference honors. Chad will be looked upon to either start or relieve as a freshman this spring. He is a LHP with great potential. Chad has not decided on a major. |
