Scott GinnScott Ginn, Head Coach

Ginn is only the second women’s soccer coach in the history of the program at Mars Hill that began in 1992.

Ginn brings 16 years of coaching experience with him to the program. He was most recently the Director of Coaching and Player Development at the Stones River Futbol Club in Smyrna, TN. Ginn’s last college coaching position was at Middle Tennessee State University where he served as the head coach of the women’s team in 2000 and 2001. Prior to that Ginn was the head women’s soccer coach at Barton College (1996-99), assistant women’s soccer coach at Berry College (1995-96), and the head soccer coach at Forest Park High School in Forest Park, GA (1993). He started his coaching career as an assistant men’s soccer coach at his alma mater, Atlantic Christian College from 1990-92. Atlantic Christian changed their name to Barton College in 1990.

Ginn holds a National “A” License from the United States Soccer Federation and an Advanced National Diploma from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. His camp experience includes the Stones River Team Training Camps (present); Director of the Middle Tennessee State University Soccer Camp (2001); Co-Director of the Barton College Soccer Camps (1995-99); University of Florida Soccer Camps (1996-present); Greensboro Dynamo Soccer Camps (1996-99); and All-Star Soccer Camps (1990-96).

Ginn played at Atlantic Christian from 1986-89. He was the team’s captain during his senior campaign. After finishing his eligibility at Atlantic Christian, Ginn competed for the Atlanta Amateur Soccer Division from 1992-96.

Upon accepting the position Ginn stated, “I am very excited about this opportunity. I believe Mars Hill’s women’s soccer program has a lot of potential and I am looking forward to spring training and preparing the squad for the upcoming 2003 fall season.”

“Scott Ginn brings experience and enthusiasm to our women’s soccer program. Those two factors combined with his competitive nature makes him a perfect fit for our program”, stated Mars Hill College Athletic Director David Riggins.

Ginn replaces David Bennett who resigned from the position in December to pursue a ministry opportunity in Colorado. Ginn will began his duties at Mars Hill College in February.
